Issues after Dell motherboard replacement on new generation servers

After a Dell motherboard is replaced on a new generation of servers (R320, R420, R520, R620, R720) and you are running UEFI there may be issues.

Some issue that were noticed are:

  • ReIP NICs
    • Your NICs will change and be redone
  • RADIUS integration with Network Policy Server stops working
    • Simply restart the service a few times and the issues should clear up
  • DNS services
    • Simply restart the service a few times and the issues should clear up
  • Exchange – outbound emails do not come in
    • Open exchange management, select your receive connector and add all IPs (0.0.0.0-255.255.255.255)
      • For some reason we have seen that a new mobo clears this out and it needs to be added back in
